Sweet Cream Pancake – Melts in your Mouth!

Sweeten up your breakfast with these melt-in-your-mouth sweet cream pancakes. Serve with whipped cream, warm butter, or maple syrup, and enjoy!

I am a big fan of pancakes! No doubt pancakes are the best breakfast dish ever created. You can have it with a side of omelet or crispy bacon, or you can have it with maple syrup, fireweed jelly, or chocolate.

Sweet cream pancakes are my favorite type because they are rich and fluffy as compared to normal ones because they are filled with heavy cream. I’m telling you after trying out this recipe, you will forget about Mcdonald’s hotcakes.

I usually serve these thick fluffy pancakes with a drizzle of salted caramel syrup, and a side of seasonal fresh fruits like strawberry, blueberry, mango, and banana.

The pancakes are so sweet and delicious that you don’t even need syrup. With almost the same ingredients, you can turn your everyday pancakes into these fluffy sweet cream pancakes and surprise your family.

Key Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 tsp white sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 ½ cup heavy cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter

Pancake Toppings

Depending on the mood you’re in, there are plenty of things you can add to the top of your pancakes. Try these:

  • Fresh seasonal fruit like strawberries, sliced bananas, or blueberries.
  • Warm butter melts easily on the pancake.
  • Nutella or any other chocolate spread.
  • Greek yogurt.
  • Creamy peanut butter
  • Maple syrup.

Chef Notes

  • You can add extra flavor to the batter by adding chocolate chips. If you want to add chocolate chips, add the batter to the pan first and then add the chips.
  • These pancakes can be frozen for up to 2 months.
  • Make sure the heat is set to medium because, at high heat, your pancake will remain uncooked from the middle.
  • When you pour the batter, don’t spread it out as we need a thick, fluffy sweet cream pancake.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 tsp white sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 ½ cup heavy cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions
 

Preparing the Batter

  • In a large bowl, sift flour and add the dry ingredients which are baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Mix them together and make sure there is no lumpy flour.
  • In a separate bowl, add sugar, eggs, milk, heavy cream, and vanilla extract. Whisk them using a hand whisk or an electric whisk until fluffy.
  • Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ones, and make sure everything is well combined.
  • Let the mixture sit for 10 minutes to let the leavening agent rise.

Cooking

  • Now heat a girdle or a large frying pan on medium heat. I prefer using a non-stick frying pan as it makes sure the batter doesn’t stick to the surface.
  • Melt some butter onto the pan.
  • Scoop up ½ cup of the batter and pour it onto the pan.
  • Let the batter sit for 3-4 minutes until the bubbles disappear on top, and the bottom of the pancake is golden.
  • Flip the pancake and cook for 2-3 minutes until it’s golden brown.
  • For the next batch, make sure to melt more butter before adding the batter.
  • Serve the pancakes hot with the topping of your choice.
