Regular intake of Bok Choy is also known to help reduce the risk of cancer. And the benefits of the green leafy vegetable go on. It makes a great smoothie to go with breakfast recipes like tuna kimchi fried rice, or a sandwich.

I love a glass of bok choy smoothie in the morning before a workout as it keeps you full and gives an energy boost. However, I have heard people complain that their smoothie is too bland and boring when it doesn’t have to be!

There are so many fruits that you can combine with bok choy to make the smoothy delicious and increase its nutritional value. What’s best about bok choy is that it goes well with all seasonal fruits like banana, mango, pineapple, and even strawberry if you like the taste.

Today I bring you my favorite and go-to bok choy smoothie recipe that is not only ready within minutes but is also very delicious – sweet with a zesty kick. Let’s get into the recipe.

Key Ingredients

  • 1 baby bok choy
  • Half apple
  • 2-3 pieces of pineapple
  • 1 banana
  • 1 1/4 cups of water or milk
  • 1 tsp lemon (optional)
  • a small piece of fresh ginger

Optional

You can choose to add your protein powder, or supplements to the ingredients. If you want the smoothie to be sweeter, substitute apple with mango for a rich flavor.

Some ingredients that are regular in my smoothie are flax seed, pumpkin seed, and Aamla powder. You can also add chia seeds to the mix. Don’t worry about experimenting, because the end result will be a delicious smoothie!

Instructions

  1. Take all the ingredients and blend. If you feel the smoothie is too thick, you can increase the water to get it to your required consistency.
  2. Add a few ice cubes in a class, pour in the smoothie, and enjoy!

Alternatives

  • Instead of water, you can also add coconut milk, soy milk, or regular milk – whatever you use.
  • Although sugar is not recommended in the smoothie, you can add 1 tbsp of honey to add sweetness.
  • A pinch of cinnamon in the smoothie brings out the flavor of other fruits.
