Margaritas are my favorite, with Casamigos tequila margarita a favorite cocktail year-round, which is why I’m going to share my Casamigos margarita recipe so you can make this refreshing drink at home.
This recipe is great for people who don’t have much time to make fancy drinks with strawberries and more. In under five minutes with a handful of ingredients you end up with a fresh zesty margarita. Honestly, it’s my go-to drink when I have long days.
Casamigos is a brand of tequilla launched by George Clooney and his friend on a quest to make one of the best and smoothest tequila. Casa means home and migos is from amigos called friends.
The tequila has sweet notes with a hint of vanilla. My personal favorite is Casamigos Tequila Resposado as it has notes of topical fruit, and oak, making it perfect for creating a tasty margarita.
Casamigos margarita is simple, old school, and a bit different from your usual drinks – just what you need to relax after a long day at work.
I love making this margarita on Saturday nights with Tuna Kimchi fried rice, Hong Kong noodles, or a light snack. With the margarita in hand, and my favorite show streaming on Netflix, nothing better to take the week’s hectic routine off my shoulders.
This Casamigos margarita recipe is my all-time favorite because its very simple, and gives a mixture of sweet, salty, and zesty fresh drink paired with tequila.
- 2 ½ tbsp Casamigos Tequila Blanco or Casamigos Tequila Reposado
- 2 tbsp Cointreau
- 1 ½ tbsp fresh lime juice
- 1 fresh lime
- Clear ice
- Kosher salt for the rim
- Lime wedge for garnish
- Place Casamigos tequila, fresh lime juice, and Cointreau in a cocktail shaker with 4 ice cubes. Shake the mixture until cold.
- Take a lime wedge and run it across the rim of the serving glass. Dip the rim of the glass into a plate of kosher salt, so it covers it thinly.
- Strain the margarita into the glass that you have prepared and add ice cubes.
- Serve chilled.
If you want to make a pitcher (7-8 servings), you can take 1 ½ Casamigos tequila, 1 cup Cointreau, and ¾ cup fresh lime juice. Add the ingredients to a pitcher with a handful of ice cubes.
If you don’t have Cointreau, you can also use Triple Sec to make the Casamigos margarita.
If you want more flavor, you can add Orange Liquer, and Agave Nectar to the mixture for orange undernotes. Another popular addition to the drink is cane sugar syrup for sweetness that complements the lime juice.
Casamigos tequila is a great addition to some other popular cocktails like strayberry margarita, watermelon margarita, or ginger margarita.
I hope you try our this simple Casamigos margarita recipe, and love it. When it comes to mixing drinks, don’t forget to experiment with different flavors, you never know you might discover a new taste.
